Your breath is the most powerful tool you carry with you.

Breathwork connects you to your conscious mind and your body's deepest intelligence

Breathwork is not a trend. It is one of the oldest, most effective tools for shifting the nervous system and accessing what the thinking mind alone cannot reach.

ABOUT BREATHWORK

Breathwork is the conscious, intentional use of breathing to shift your state—emotionally, mentally, physically, and energetically.

Breathwork bypasses the thinking mind and operates on direct pathways to the body's wisdom. Stored emotions, unprocessed experiences, and patterns that have been held in the nervous system for years can begin to surface—not through analysis, but through deep connection with the physical self.

Whether you choose one-on-one support, or group membership depends, not on how deep you'd like to go, but whether you'd like individually tailored support to get there.

WHAT TO EXPECT

What happens in a session?

You breathe using specific breath patterns or holds while seated or lying comfortably. Similar to guided meditation, music and vocal cues guide the experience. Emotions, sensations, or memories may arise—there's no right way to experience it. Each session is different, and each person will experience each session in their own unique way.

Why does it work?

Your breath is the only involuntary system you can consciously control. When you breathing in patterns, you directly stimulate the Vagus nerve—the main regulator of your nervous system. You are literally changing your biochemistry with your breath. Consistent practice changes the relationship you have with your body and your breath.

What are the benefits?

Breathwork has myriad mental, physical, and emotional benefits. It helps release stored stress and trauma, creates more emotional balance, and builds physical resilience over time. It can improve sleep,  nervous system regulation, physical performance, anxiety, and heart health indicators.

Consistent practice produces the most long-lasting benefits.

Is it safe?

While there are a list of contraindications, when facilitated by a trained, trauma-informed practitioner, breathwork is safe for most people. Pregnancy, retinal detachment, and certain cardiovascular conditions should be discussed ahead of time. If you have specific health concerns, reach out before joining.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE

Breathwork has been one of the most powerful tools in my healing.

Breathwork found me right as my marriage was unraveling and it got me through my father’s cancer diagnosis and death just a few months later.

Breathwork, with attuned facilitators, gave me space to grieve, process my anger, and rebuild a relationship with my body I didn't even know was available to me when I began.

Now, after years of consistent practice, I've learned how to feel, listen, and respond to  my needs instead of pushing through or shutting down. I am more regulated, present, and more able to cope when fear and sorrow do show up.

Breath sessions with me are intuitive, collaborative, and trauma-informed, creating a space that meets you exactly where you are and supports what your body is ready to release or integrate.

1:1 BREATHWORK — THE BREATH JOURNEY
For humans who have space and time to go somewhere.
Fifty minutes. At home, lying down, with space after. We begin by setting the intention together—what you're carrying, what you're ready to release, what you want to meet. Then the breath takes you there.

Grief, shame, stuck energy, old patterns—the breath knows where to go. My role is to guide, read, and hold the container while you move through what's been waiting. You'll want 20–30 minutes after to integrate.

This is not a session you schedule before a meeting. This is a dedicated appointment with yourself.

MICHELLE

"Since meeting Meagan and practicing breathwork weekly, my life has changed for the better! I’m more able to contain my emotions and feel them, process, in a more regulated manner. Her allowance for big emotions and the freedom to express them wildly and uninhibitedly has given my ADHD brain the permission to love breathwork and, specifically guided by Meagan, the experience is unique every time!"

JUDY

"I have been participating in the weekly breathwork calls since January. I joined to help me deal with stress at work, home and a consistently low heart variability. It has helped me tremendously. My HRV has gone from the teens to the high twenties and my sleep has improved as well. I now know how to step away and breathe when stressed at work."

JANE

"Meagan is intuitive, authentic, and highly skilled. Whether guiding breathwork or offering Reiki, she creates a space that feels safe, intentional, and deeply attuned to what each person needs in the moment. Several of the women at the retreat were long-time clients of Meagan’s, and hearing how profoundly she has supported their healing set the tone even before I experienced her work firsthand."

Defining Mountains Breathwork, LLC

Kennesaw, GA and Online

Defining Mountains is a somatic coaching and breathwork practice founded by Meagan Crowe. It is not a mountain climbing, hiking, or outdoor gear company. The name refers to the philosophy that personal thresholds — like mountains — are defined by the individual, not by universal standards.
